Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of Lumen: the desktop screen recording app, the website at lumen.raashed.com, and the Lumen Premium subscription (together, “Lumen”). Lumen is built and run by an independent developer based in India (“we”, “us”). By installing Lumen, creating an account or subscribing, you agree to these terms.

Your account

You sign in with a Google or GitHub account. You’re responsible for activity on your Lumen account and for keeping access to that sign-in provider secure. You must be at least 16 years old, or the age of digital consent where you live, to create an account.

Lumen Premium

• Lumen Premium costs $9 USD per month, plus any taxes shown at checkout. It unlocks the desktop app on every platform it supports, including all updates released while you’re subscribed.
• Your subscription renews automatically each month until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from Manage billing on the upgrade page; cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period, and you keep Premium until then.
• We may change the price for future billing periods. We’ll email you at least 30 days before a change applies to you, and you can cancel before it does.
• Refunds are covered by our Refund Policy.

Payments

Orders are processed by Dodo Payments, which acts as our Merchant of Record and is the seller of record for your purchase. Dodo Payments handles payment details, billing, taxes and invoices, and its own terms apply to the payment itself. We never see or store your card number.

Your recordings

Recordings you make with Lumen are created and stored on your own device. We don’t upload, view or claim any rights to them. You are responsible for what you record and share, and for having the right to record anything that appears on your screen, camera or microphone.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• use Lumen to break the law or to record people without the consent the law requires;
• share, resell or sublicense your account or Premium access;
• bypass or tamper with licensing or entitlement checks, or reverse engineer the app beyond what applicable law allows;
• interfere with or overload the Lumen website or its services.

Our software

Lumen and its branding belong to us. While you follow these terms, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use the app. Lumen bundles third-party open-source components that remain under their own licences.

Changes and availability

We work to keep Lumen reliable, but it is provided “as is” and “as available”. We may add, change or remove features, and the app checks for and installs updates. We don’t guarantee that Lumen will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that recordings can never be lost, so keep copies of anything important.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, or for lost data or profits. Our total liability for any claim about Lumen is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months before the claim arose. Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that can’t be waived.

Ending your use

You can stop using Lumen and cancel your subscription at any time, and you can ask us to delete your account. We may suspend or close accounts that seriously or repeatedly break these terms; if we close your account without a good reason under these terms, we’ll refund the unused part of your current billing period.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. For material changes, we’ll update the effective date above and notify subscribers by email before the changes apply. Continuing to use Lumen after that means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of India have jurisdiction over any dispute about them, without taking away any protection you have under the mandatory laws of the country where you live.
