Screen Studio for Linux? Use Lumen.

Screen Studio has never shipped for Linux. Lumen is the Screen Studio alternative for Linux x86_64 - automatic zooms, a camera bubble, a lumen CLI, and polished exports from a one-line curl install.

Why Lumen on Linux

First-class Linux support. Built for Linux desktops from day one, not a Mac port. Ideal for engineers who live in Linux and still want polished demos.

CLI + launcher. Install drops a launcher and a lumen command on your PATH so recording fits a terminal-first workflow.

Local by default. Recordings stay on your machine. Cursor and click tracking for zooms never leaves the device.

Install note. One curl command installs a launcher and a lumen command on your PATH.

How to get started

  1. Install with curl. Run the Linux install command from the homepage. You get a launcher and the lumen CLI.
  2. Capture screen or window. Choose what to record, optionally turn on the camera bubble, and work as usual while Lumen follows the pointer.
  3. Export. Stop with Ctrl+Shift+2, tweak zooms if you want, and export a shareable video.
